Pick out important elements of the plot It’s also a good idea for students to figure out which elements of a plot are crucial and which simply move the story forward. Year 9 students who will be making their GCSE choices this year, will unearth a change to the mandatory subjects; English Language, English Literature, and Maths. With GCSE starters seeing a change to all subjects by September 2019. The maths GCSE will be more 'challenging' with emphasis on problem solving. It will be assessed wholly by exam, so the option of coursework to secure partial marks is no more. This could add an increased stress and pressure to students who do not perform well under examination. English Language GCSE will remain compulsory, with 20% of the final mark focussing purely on punctuation and grammar. Secondary school students will now have a choice in partaking in the English Literature GCSE, as this is no longer a compulsory subject. Unusually, grading will now be used on a scale of 9-1 opposed to A*-F. Assessment will be mainly by exam with the choice of only 2 tiers; Foundation and Higher. With GCSEs looking tougher than ever, it's time to study hard and boost your exam grades.

Assessing a candidate’s potential cultural fit isn’t quite the same as measuring up skills and experiences from a resume, though. To help you avoid making the wrong hire, here are three ways to recruit for culture and values fit: Articulate your culture. It may sound simple, but before you can hire effectively for cultural fit, you will first need to define and articulate your school’s culture and values. What are your school’s values? How would you describe the culture in a few sentences? If you are interviewing as a panel, make sure that everyone involved in the hiring process is on the same page in how they understand and communicate your school’s culture, mission and values. Share your culture. Once your school’s vision is defined, it should be clearly conveyed in all of your external communication channels, including your school website and any recruiting channels you use to source teaching candidates - especially your job postings. Sure it would! Does it always happen? No. Although you may have talked to them for hours about how excited you both were about rooming together, sometimes things just do not work out. Living in a tiny space with a stranger can be challenging, but as long as the two of you remain friendly, thats okay! You will meet plenty of other people on campus who you will become close with. You are going to be living with dozens of fellow freshmen who are trying to adjust just as much as you are. This does not mean that you are going to hear loud music and talking all hours of the night, but you should be prepared to hear some noise. A tip to drown out the noise you hear is to invest in a pair of earplugs and good headphones. Privacy may be hard to come by All incoming freshmen should realize that alone time doesnt happen much in college. Living in a college dorm, youre going to have to adjust to a communal style of living. On the upside however, youre always going to have friends around you! A shower caddy is going to come in handy so you dont have to carry all of your shower materials in your hands. Also, invest in a good pair of flip-flops. Showering with flip-flops on might sound strange at first, but trust us, you will be grateful. Know how to do your laundry ahead of time For some people, washing your own clothes may be a new experience. Theres nothing worse than sticking your favorite white shirt in the washing machine and having it come out pink. Before you leave for college, have someone show you how to properly wash your clotheswhich wash cycle to use, what clothes to separate, which clothes you can dry; these are all things you need to know. It might be tempting to bring the trophies you won at a sports competition in high school, but these should be left at home.
